Bees, wasps, and yellow jackets often need special attention because their stings are always potentially serious. We are trained and State Certified in the control of the Americanized honey bee (AHB), feral honeybee. We also specialize in prompt service.
Honey bee swarms can alight or touchdown without warning and may sting without intentional provocation. Nearly 2% of people are reportedly highly allergic (anaphylaxis) to bee stings. If a bee swarm lands near your home, school, or business where you or others are at risk for being stung, there is little choice but to act quickly. Bee removal calls, are given a high priority and we respond to them on a same-day basis, usually within 90 minutes!
True, not every bee issue requires immediate attention. However, if you have a lingering beehive nesting within a wall void or similar area, we recommend having it removed sooner, rather than later. The honeycomb grows larger over time, increasing the likelihood of surface staining, structural degradation, odors and other pest issues developing, as a result.
Bee Alert–AHB Threat
Africanized honey bees (AHB) are a concern because they attack intruders in numbers greater than European honey bees and cannot be distinguished from their tamer “cousins” in the field. Since their introduction into the U.S. in 1990, they have seriously harmed many people and pets, with victims receiving ten times as many stings. They have a heightened defensive nature and can sense a threat from people, animals or machinery, 50-100 feet away from their hive. They also react to disturbances ten times faster than European Honey Bees, and are known to chase people over 1/8 mile.
